The Banjo is a classic American instrument to learn – it's great fun and has a signature sound. Many guitarists are obliged to double on Banjo, as it holds a place in not only folk, Irish traditional and bluegrass music, but also in early Jazz and some classical repertoire. Historically, the banjo occupied a central place in African American traditional music, before becoming popular in the minstrel shows of the 19th century.
Lessons on Banjo can really go wherever the student desires – everything from a disciplined study that includes note reading, chords, charts, fingerpicking to just simple learn as you go, and pick up music that you've always been interested in.
You can learn on Tenor, 5-String, Bluegrass, or 6-String Banjo;
